Cosmic Cowboys is a St. Louis based country rock band. The Cowboys are dedicated to carrying on the traditions and sounds of country rock legends such as Gram Parsons, Emmy Lou Harris, Merle Haggard, The Byrds, The Flying Burrito Brothers and others. The Cowboys were founded by guitar player and singer, Richard Dempsey and debuted at Jackson's in St. Louis on February 23, 2008. They were featured at the KDHX Gram Parsons Tribute benefit at Off Broadway in St. Louis on March 29, 2008.
Cosmic Cowboys can be seen at several venues throughout the St. Louis and surrounding areas. They frequent venues such as Riddles in the University City Loop, The Venice Cafe, Felix's, The Ugly Fish, and Fallon's. The Cowboys have played at special events such as Shriner's Circus, St. Louis County Bench and Bar Convention, and other charity events. The Cowboys are often pursued for private parties as well.
